emerge -up `qpkg -nc -I -n` (Hagabard) you must have the gentoolkit installed for this command to work (Hagabard) will help you update everything installed on your box (Hagabard) will spot some wierd issues form time to time if you have been running it long enough (Hagabard) use it to keep your gentoo system running squealy clean (Hagabard) they should make the gentoolkit install mandatory by default. (Hagabard) I'm currently upgrading every single ebuild i have installed. we've found build/makeworkd and portupgrade in one for gentoo. (Hagabard) had to remove several packages before it would go too. no wonder my system was acting stupid. (Hagabard) do test it on a non-production system first to get a feel for it. (Hagabard) i'm still frikken cleaning shit out. and it's like 24h later. uNF. use with care. (Hagabard) had to do 86 packages, now down to 48 to go. (Hagabard) after removing another 3 or 4. (Hagabard) after a few days, i seem to be done, and we'll see how things go. i chose this route instead of simple reinstallation because I Can(tm)
